Travellers advised to apply for an ESTA
Personal insurance
6th September 2010
Any individuals planning to travel to the US over the coming two years have been advised by an expert to apply now for an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).
Head of marketing at Round the World Experts Paul Bondsfield explained that both those visiting the country and those transiting it to go on to other destinations must have the documentation.
Individuals seeking a UK insurance policy for a journey to the US may be interested to learn that from September 8th, they are required to pay a fee of $14 (£9.07) for the ESTA.
It is a travel permit that must be purchased by travellers before they board a flight and failure to secure it before setting off could cause problems for those who are not made aware of this requirement when booking flights.
"There are no excuses accepted, if you turn up without it, you will not be able to board your flight," Mr Bondsfield warned.
