Road debris 'worst in London'

Dangerous debris on the roads is a potential problem for anyone with a UK insurance policy - but the issue is worst in London, new research shows.
Kwik-Fit found some 28 per cent of drivers have experienced a flat tyre or puncture in the last year due to damaged surfaces or items on the ground capable of causing mechanical glitches.
The total repair bill for this reached £300 million and, in some motorists' cases, could have affected their car insurance.
The capital was discovered to be the worst place for debris, while the area with the lowest puncture rate was the East Midlands.
"Our research shows just how many drivers are inconvenienced by punctures or tyre damage every year," explained Kwik-Fit's customer services director David White.
Drivers who want to update their car insurance policy may find the region they live in and the car they own to have an effect on premiums.
