Most important factor in holiday cover 'not always price'

The cheapest holiday insurance is not necessarily the best and consumers should check carefully that the policy they are buying covers them for everything they require.
According to ABTA - The Travel Association spokesman Sean Tipton, less expensive products do not always provide the same level of cover as their pricier counterparts.
"You need to bear in mind that [with] insurance, like any other product, the levels of cover on offer can vary quite drastically," he warned, advising buyers: "Don't always be driven by price."
Mr Tipton added that medical cover is of particular importance and both ABTA and the Association of British Insurers recommend provision for up to £2 million in costs if a visit is planned to a country such as the US.
An estimated 56 per cent of Britons are planning trips overseas this year following last year's disappointing summer, according to figures from website simonseeks.com, something that many be of interest to those seeking a UK insurance policy.
