Snow sports enthusiasts urged to take out cover

Those heading overseas for ski and snowboard breaks this winter are advised to ensure they have cover in place.
In order ensure that travellers beat the January blues rather than adding to them More Than suggested that adequate policies are needed to provide protection in the event of an incident.
The company warned that the European Health Insurance Certificate does not cover all eventualities and insurance products are required that specifically relate to winter sports during such holidays.
Bills for being rescued from the mountains can run into thousands of pounds and More Than head of travel Matt Pernet commented: "Taking a ski or snowboarding trip is great fun, travellers need to make sure that they stay safe though. It is important to get your travel insurance in place."
He added that winter sports fans are advised to ensure that they ski only on runs that suit their ability and do not take unnecessary risks in order to reduce the risk of being injured.
A poll released by Confused.com in November indicated that drunk skiers are placing themselves and others at risk on the piste and many insurance policies include clauses relating to alcohol consumption.
