Sailors 'seeking adventure and challenges'
Personal insurance

People increasingly want "something a little bit more challenging or a little bit more variation" when they are sailing, it has been suggested.
According to Tony Bennett, director of Sail Scotland, the country is becoming more popular with yachts because some sailors find the Mediterranean Sea "predictable", as it is non-tidal.
Promoting sailing in Scotland, he explained that the Firth of Clyde has sheltered waters - in addition to facilities such as moorings, marinas and anchorages - while the further north or west boats travel "then the more wild, the more rugged the sailing will become".
Mr Bennett also noted that "people are wanting a bigger boat" as it enables them to cover longer distances and reach new waters more quickly, particularly retirees in search of adventures.
Those seeking yacht insurance may also be interested to note that 32 per cent of those polled by YouGov recently stated that Scotland is the perfect destination for a British island escape.
