The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is to carry out a series of client meetings and site visits across the north-west this month.
According to Building, the safety watchdog's construction division will work with construction design and management (CDM) co-ordinators during the month to improve the implementation of health and safety regulations.
HSE construction inspector Dave Charnock said proper CDM co-ordination is central to reducing the risk of ill health and accidents on UK building sites.
Mr Charnock commented: "HSE will work with the CDM co-ordinator profession to ensure that their role is robust and effective in ensuring safe design, adequate planning and in challenging unhelpful bureaucracy."
In related news, innovative construction workers in Scotland have been promoting health and safety on their site by wearing hi-vis kilts.
