Eateries that offer delivery services might like to check their takeaway insurance following a spate of crimes in Peterborough.

Muggers have targeted takeaway drivers in four incidents to have taken place in the city, Peterborough Today reports.

Each instance involved the victim being approached when they left their cars with food.

As well as making sure takeaway insurance is in place, business owners may wish to heed the advice of Peterborough police's Matt Snow.

He told the newspaper: "It is important that takeaway delivery companies take all the precautions they can when booking orders, including finding out exactly who the order is for."

Meanwhile, a man has died from an allergic reaction after eating a takeaway curry that contained nuts.

Angus Myers of Durham had asked at the restaurant whether the food contained nuts and had been told it did not.ADNFCR-1854-ID-18889440-ADNFCR
