Brits hoping to sell their properties have cut the initial asking price for their homes by an average of 2.9 per cent, according to a new report.
Research from Rightmove published today (November 17th) claims the average asking price for a house in the UK fell from £229,691 to £222,979 in October.
Miles Shipside, commercial director at Rightmove, said some people putting the properties on the market could avoid months of disillusionment by marketing their houses at prices nearer to property price indicators.
He commented: "While average asking prices have fallen by 7.1 per cent over the past year, in most parts of the country you should look to at least double that discount to achieve a sale."
Rightmove was launched in 2000 and now includes more than 12,000 estate agency on its books (over than 90 per cent of all UK estate agencies), according to the companys official website.
