Road haulage firms can cut the amount of money they spend on fuel and help reduce the size of their carbon footprint in one swoop, it has been claimed.
CMS Supatrak, along with haulage company Bearhunt, has come up with an innovative solution that provides vehicle tracking and allows fleet operators to measure actual fuel usage and carbon emissions during each journey.
The EcoTrak system also collects data on vehicle management parameters, cruise time and engine load.
Jason Airey, managing director of CMS SupaTrak, commented: "The success of Boarhunt is reflective of the reality that is being experienced by clients across the country. I urge all fleet managers to take the EcoTrak fuel saving challenge today."
According to the Road Haulage Association, fuel currently accounts for 40 per cent of a haulage company's operating costs.
In related news, a petrol price war has begun after several supermarkets reduced the price of fuel at their forecourts to below £1.
