GILES ACQUIRES ONE OF SCOTLAND’S FINEST
Two of Scotland’s finest and most reputable insurance firms have joined together in a bid to further strengthen their already impressive market presence north of the border.
Giles Insurance Brokers has completed the acquisition of independent insurance broker, Edinburgh-based Carrick Neill & Co.
Carrick Neill & Co has become the third acquisition in only four weeks to be completed by Giles, a clear sign that the company remains fully committed to growing its presence throughout the UK.
Established in 1994, Carrick Neill’s main focus has been the provision of a specialist broking service to professional firms and golfers. It rapidly became renowned as one of the leading providers of golf insurance in the UK, and is currently the only broker to be endorsed by the English, Scottish and Ladies’ Golf Unions.
David Carrick said: “We have built up an enviable reputation thanks to our ability to provide a bespoke insurance service to the golfing industry. Coupled with our healthy client portfolio and our commitment to providing cost-effective insurance solutions, we have maintained our leading position in Scotland for a number of years.”
David Neill added: “In addition to the above and to complement our golfing products, we have built up an enviable reputation looking after our commercial clients, and an acknowledged leader in the PI market. We are sure that with Giles’ input we will be able to strengthen each area of our business even further and offer our clients a far wider range of services and products to suit their needs.”
Gordon Crosbie, regional managing director at Giles Insurance, added: “Carrick Neill is an extremely well run organisation which has worked hard since it was established to become one of the most reputable firms north of the border.
“This is an extremely important acquisition for us and will add great strength to our already impressive portfolio.”
